Hello! I’m Fumie, the owner & soapmaker of Wholesome Suds. Thank you for visiting! Wholesome Suds Natural Handmade Soap is a small artisan soap company located in Victoria on beautiful Vancouver Island in BC, Canada.

 In 2007, I met a passionate soapmaker at a local community market in my hometown of Osaka. I bought her beautiful soap and I fell in love with it when I washed my face with her soap for the first time. The creamy lather, the pleasant scent of essential oils, and the clean & supple feeling of the skin… I still remember how impressed I was at that moment.

 In 2008, the soapmaker introduced me to several books about cold process soap and I started making my own soaps.
 The more I learned about handcrafted soap, the more I realized the importance of ingredients. The balance of fatty acids contained in oils and butters used in soap determines the soap's properties such as hardness, foaming, and moisturizing power. It’s an art!

 What I value in my products is to use good quality natural ingredients. I enjoy using botanicals and clays that bring earthy colors to my designs. I love creating my own blends of essential oils for my soaps, imagining the soothing scents emanating from the silky, gentle lather.

 I would be very happy if I could share the wholesomeness of nature with you through my products!
